Dying Along the Way

Dying along the way
petals falling from the
bone. Tearing flesh. Sinking
teeth into the unknown
Faded stills. Wanting more
than questions asked. Denied
Seeking wisdom unlearned
Desperate are our hearts
Like paintings moored, concrete
canvases beneath the
glare of fluorescent lights
A circus of my death
Gather we, mindlessly
selling ourselves, hoping
for only redemption
Shouting from my pulpit
God damned this bended knee
Like a prisoner. Falsely
begging your forgiveness
Unearth these stones you cast
***
