Cold

Lift your glasses
Drink your spirits
Tis the season
For the masses
He’s the reason
Our Lord Savior
I’m quite forgotten
Overlooked you see
As you step over me
On the street
Beneath your feet
Cold filthy concrete
And my cardboard sheets
My loved ones
Are long gone
No one cares for me
It’s my own damned fault
A life not wanted
A dream thwarted
Disregarded
Pray for me please
A dollar spared
But for my pride
A few pennies more
Dreams of my life
Before this
Like a kiss
Freshly missed
A fine young lad
I once did know
A mother
And father
Who loved me so
A home and garden
Brimming in bloom
My very own room
A sister
A brother
Lift your glasses
Drink your spirits
Tis the season
For the masses
He’s reason
Our Lord Savior
I’m quite forgotten
Overlooked you see
As you step over me
On the street
Beneath your feet
Cold filthy concrete
And my cardboard sheets
My loved ones
Are long gone
No one cares for me
It’s my own damned fault
A life not wanted
A dream thwarted
Disregarded
Pray for me please
A dollar spared
But for my pride
A few pennies more
Dreams of my life
Before this
Like a kiss
Freshly missed
A young fine lad
I once did know
A mother
And father
Who loved me so
A home and garden
Brimming in bloom
My very own room
A sister
A brother
Plenty of love
Faith in our God
Suddenly
Taken from me
Now here I lay
Alone and failed
Winds stifle my sigh
Din quiets my cries
My faith strong and pure
I pray on this nigh’
That I may endure
A Christmas past
I still remember
